Sarah Palmore

As a paragon scholar, Sarah benefitted from the leadership class taught by President Merrill Ewert which she took her freshman year and from the continued breakfast meetings with him. She appreciates FPU’s emphasis on servant leadership. Her major is math with a secondary teaching emphasis, but her career plans are up in the air as she contemplates being a math teacher, architect or engineer.
“The teachers at FPU make a huge difference. History is my worst subject ever. For some people it’s math, but for me it is history. My professor, Silas Langley, taught with passion. I learned a lot and even discovered that history is actually interesting. The passion for the subjects the teachers convey really impacts students.
“Incredible people make FPU what it is—both the professors and the students. All of my professors are great because they are personable, give spiritual support and are ready to help in whatever way they can. And in class, the students have a different attitude. We support each other and help each other. There is a spirit of collaboration. Instead of just being out for yourself, everyone is willing to serve others.
"Living in the dorms was a great experience, too. I found it incredible how well I got along with my roommates. It was great to hang-out, pretend to do homework, make Jamba Juice or Taco Bell runs and stay up late watching TV. One girl even taught us all to crochet! And we did Bible studies, too. I loved living in the dorms!”
